Late last month, I traveled to Orlando for a Greater Orlando Society for Human Resources Management (GOSHRM) networking event, EVOLUTION 2025. It brought together local members and leaders to discuss the best practices, partnerships and solutions for today's HR leaders.
I was fortunate enough to be offered a speaking spot at the event. Having recently watched the 2019 film Ford v Ferrari, here are some of the leadership lessons I shared that are universal, no matter if you're in the racing business or HR.
When the Shelby Ford was designed in 1966, it redefined the American's entry into a racing world dominated by Italy. The Mustang put power into the hands of the people, making performance cars more than just a luxury.
Similarly, SmartFHR is transforming the way organizations approach employee well-being. Just as the Mustang brought speed and excitement to everyday drivers, SmartFHR brings seamless, centralized wellness, HR, and communication tools to employees, empowering them to take control of their health and work-life balance.
Taking attendees "under the hood," I shared my insights on employee engagement during my breakout session on 'Employee Engagement and Retention'. As we often emphasize, employee engagement is critical to lower turnover and create higher productivity. By offering easy access to information, benefits and services, HR builds a connection to the workplace for employees and their families.
During the session, I shared how HR leaders can leverage modern technologies for one-stop-shop with multi-channel, personalized communication to engage employees in your company's culture of health and wellbeing for greater happiness. I emphasized the following points:
I spoke with fellow industry leaders - learning from each about their unique challenges in the workforce and sharing our strategies for success. These conversations revealed a shared commitment to empowering employees by investing in their growth.
Whether it's the open road or the workplace, the right tools make all the difference. While there was focus on emerging technologies like AI, using multichannel communications and digital platforms remains a foundational tool for HR professionals to achieve their organizations goals.
As I left the event, one thing was clear: HR is no longer evolving quietly in the background - it is driving the future of work. And at Green Circle Life, we know that offering employees resources that help promote sustainable lifestyle changes improves their happiness and lowers health costs over time.
We are driven to help employees and their families build sustainable lifestyle changes and were thrilled to connect with so many leaders about this topic in Orlando. And as the Mustang changed driving forever, SmartFHR is changing how businesses support their people.
Green Circle Life cannot wait to attend more SHRM events this year and continue to engage with HR professionals. Next up is the World at Work Total Rewards '25 conference in Orlando. See you there!
