Employee Benefit News Names AutoZone's Matthew C. Harmon as One of 2023's Excellence in Benefits Awards Honorees

PENSACOLA, Fla., September 14, 2023

Green Circle Life (GCL), provider of the most comprehensive communication and engagement platform SmartFHR™ with integrated health and wellbeing services, today announced that Employee Benefit News named AutoZone's Matthew "Matt" C. Harmon, Vice President of Benefits, Compensation and HR Systems, as one of 2023's Excellence in Benefits Awards honoree.

The Employee Benefit News Excellence in Benefits program honors changemakers in the benefits and HR community, including employers with top benefits programs, innovators providing tech-driven solutions and leading advisers who connect the dots. Now in its third year, the annual initiative shines a spotlight on the community's brightest, most forward-thinking leaders.

The award recognized Harmon for his outstanding leadership and innovative work in the benefits space at AutoZone. A critical piece of AutoZone's benefits administration is use of their company-branded mobile app "AutoZoners," an employee engagement platform enabled by Green Circle Life that centralizes company's HR, benefits, and communications resources for AutoZone's workforce and their families. Focusing on AutoZone's culture of health and wellbeing, Harmon not only brought best in class healthcare services but also offered integrated wellbeing services in the app and introduced benefits to part-time employees and AutoZone retirees. Harmon oversees wellness programs, self-assessments and personal coaching for weight and chronic condition management, all through the mobile app.

"During a time of sweeping transformation in the HR and benefits landscape, these individuals are finding creative ways to build better employee experiences," said Stephanie Schomer, Editor-in-Chief at Employee Benefit News. "They're putting people first by creating better (and more affordable) benefits programs around healthcare and mental health, and changing the conversations around vital needs such as childcare and financial wellness."

Dinesh Sheth, founder and CEO of Green Circle Life, said, "Working with Matt is a pleasure, and he is dedicated to offering the best benefits to his AutoZoners. The team at Green Circle Life recognizes and applauds his leadership in the face of the pandemic and the high turnover and macroeconomic shifts that followed. He has taken the AutoZone's technology platform to the next level, resulting in increases in engagement, retention and productivity and improved mental, physical and financial health, despite the challenges of the last few years."

This year, for the first time ever, the winners of the Excellence in Benefits Awards will be recognized live and in person at EBN's new BENEFITS AT WORK conference, Sept. 27-29 in San Diego. The dedicated luncheon at this premiere event will give the honorees a chance to celebrate their accomplishments and connect with other award recipients.
